Seeking Fitters in the Fort Worth Area
Job Description:
A Fitter specializes in fitting tubular structures and reading
blueprints. Currently seeking skilled fitters to fabricate, fit,
and assemble the structural components of various mechanical
systems. To be successful as a fitter, you should be
detail-oriented, focused, and adept at interpreting blueprints.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools as well as demonstrate
excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational
skills.
The Fitter position is responsible for fitting and joining,
fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by
applying appropriate techniques in accordance with product
specifications and production schedules. For large or specialized
projects, fitters are mainly involved with laying out and
assembling subunits or units of materials which are then welded
into position by welders. The position is responsible for ensuring
the product is fitted to the specifications of each job and the
outlined requirements consistent with production of quality UT
passable welds. The fitters specialize in fitting transmission
power poles, Substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign
poles, and other tubular structures and have specific experience
related to reading blueprints.
Shift: first and second shift (Monday-Friday, some Saturday's
needed)
Pay: $23-30/hr depending on experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1 to 2 years fitter experience required
Overhead and Jib crane experience needed
Ability to set up equipment, organize and layout workstation
appropriately
Knowledge of a variety of welder concepts, practices and
procedures
Firm knowledge of welding symbols, welding diagrams, blueprints/
shop drawings, and/or other printed instructional material in the
welding of products or part
Ability to use welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, and
Air Arc
Ability to use temperature sticks and welding fillet gauges
Ability to work in extreme temperatures (sometimes due to
season)
Ability to work additional hours, as needed
Experience Level:
Intermediate Level
