Job Description:
Essential Functions
Under direct supervision, the patient services representative is
responsible for performing a variety of general administrative
support duties associated with the patient intake and check-out
processes and performs routine duties within the clinic and/or
business office.
- Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes
all paperwork necessary to ensure the check in process is
efficient.
- Conducts all functions associated with the check-out process to
ensure the check-out process is efficient.
- Answers phone calls and directs as appropriate and according to
office guidelines.
- Schedules patient appointments as appropriate and according to
office guidelines.
- Obtains copies of accurate patient and insurance information
and scans into the EHR and/or PM system according to office
guidelines.
- Collects co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles and posts into
PM system according to office guidelines.
- Prepares charts/demographics for patient appointments making
sure all necessary information is complete.
- Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients as to needed
documents, including details associated with time of service
payments according to office guidelines.
- Follows up with patients regarding missed appointment and late
cancellations, and out send out appropriate communication according
to office guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education
Requirements:
- Proficient in basic computer skills to include typing and 10
key.
- Basic knowledge of clinical procedures and regulatory
requirements.
- Team player who can multi-task in a fast paced environment
