Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hrs AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of ICU experience preferred License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Neuro experience preferred, EPIC experience required Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition, and the competencies of the employee. This RN position is for hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing. The role includes conducting accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. The RN identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs, develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care, and modifies plans to meet clinical outcomes. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, supports evidence-based practice changes, and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives. Creating a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff is essential. The RN develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families while managing both emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing. Recognizing, appreciating, and incorporating a patient's and family's unique differences into an individualized plan of care is crucial. The RN preserves and protects the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families and creates a plan reflecting their values and goals. Facilitating learning for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team is a vital responsibility. The RN works collaboratively and interdependently with colleagues to develop and implement an integrated plan of care. Utilizing problem-solving strategies and available resources for patient care is important. Improving nursing practice and the work environment involves participating in shared governance and decision-making processes. The RN must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth through continuing education and networking with professional colleagues.
