This key role will partner with the President and General Manager and business finance leader to provide both strategic and tactical contributions to achieve the business objectives. - She or he will work with business leaders to drive "The Novanta Way" culture initiatives as well as facilitate organization design and optimization objectives. The scope of this position will include providing human resources guidance, consultation, and support across all business functions to drive talent to value efforts as well as talent development.As a key member of the AET Human Resources team, this role will participate in strategy creation and execution of effective tactics with a focus on talent management, employee relations and developing a culture of continuous improvement. She or he will assess the priorities of the Cambridge Technology business unit, bringing analytical and technical human resources skills, along with strong business acumen to the table. The Human Resources Director will work with other Novanta human resources professionals around the world to develop and ensure value added service delivery that accurately reflects Novanta's values and employer brand. -Leads the development of talent management strategies and executes tactics to achieve desired business outcomes. - -Partner across the HR function to develop and deliver value added HR services to the business management team and employees that reflects Novanta's strong company values and the business objectives of the organization. - - - -Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to improve organizational capability and drive culture change. -Partner across the HR function to develop and deliver value added HR services to the business management team and employees that reflects our strong company values and the business objectives of the organization. - -Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to improve organizational capability and drive culture change to align the organization with the strategy. - -Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training. -Develop talent acquisition plans that anticipate short/long-term business needs. -Coach others on how to engage and retain key talent, identify when there is a retention risk and differentiate between wanted and unwanted turnover. -Ensure the performance management process is followed and effective. -Partner with managers on the annual goal setting process, the annual assessment process and periodic feedback sessions that strive to raise the performance of the organization. - -Provide coaching and consulting to business leaders. -Advocate employee communications processes that inform employees as well as to enhance communication between employees and management. -Provide guidance and direction to business leaders on human resource management policies, processes, and systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial and Labor Relations or related field. - Advanced degree is a plus
  • 8+ years of human resources generalist experience -
  • Track record of progressive development through working experiences in various areas of human resources management (HR rotation program, a plus)
  • Prior manufacturing HR experience is a must
  • Demonstrated experience developing talent strategies to address business needs and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience facilitating organization design efforts and familiar with change management methodology and techniques
  • Excellent communication and executive coaching skills
  • Ability to demonstrate business and financial acumen
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
