Job Description Job Description Reliability Sr. Manager We are
seeking a strategic and accomplished reliability engineer to lead
the end-to-end reliability management for our eBOS (Electronic
Balance of System) product suite. This role will oversee
reliability engineering at Premier PV to bring reliable new
products to market, reduce failure rates of existing products, and
work with Design and Manufacturing to ensure reliability is built
into the product. This position requires reliability expertise,
test equipment know how, deep technical understanding of solar and
power systems, and experience with reliability program management.
Key Responsibilities: Reliability Program Management: Lead the
company’s reliability program from end to end. Define and execute
the reliability engineering strategy in alignment with broader
company goals. Promote a customer-first culture focused on
responsiveness, quality, and technical accuracy. Serve as a
reliability subject matter expert in design reviews, influencing
product design and manufacturing quality. Reliability Testing:
Select and build out reliability test laboratory, including ovens,
chambers and test equipment. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality,
and Manufacturing teams to build test plans that demonstrate the
reliability of Premier PV products. Work with outside test labs to
organize & conduct testing that is not possible on site. Perform
reliability testing and conduct statistical data analysis based on
product life cycle model, which includes product design validation,
product qualification, and production launch. Design for
Reliability: Conduct risk assessment of new products from the early
design stage to volume production. Lead product qualifications
including gap analysis, pass/fail criteria definition, schedule
planning, and data analysis. Prepare reliability qualification test
plans and reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams
including design, manufacturing and field teams to understand eBOS
failure mechanisms and recommend corrective actions to improve
quality standards and best practices. Participate in design reviews
and design FMEAs. Use DFMEA as an input for reliability testing.
Participate in manufacturing readiness review and process FMEAs.
Use PFMEA to guide Ongoing Reliability Testing. Help drive failure
analysis on Field Returns. Work with Customer Experience to capture
closed loop learning from field returns. Create Test Plans for new
products in coordination with the Phase Gate process.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or
related technical field (advanced degree preferred). 10 years of
experience in reliability engineering leadership, preferably in the
solar, electronics, or energy industry. Strong background in
reliability, quality, and new product introduction. Deep
understanding of eBOS components including combiners, rapid
shutdown devices, disconnects, and wiring systems. Demonstrated
problem-solving skills and successful track record in a fast-paced,
high pressure tech industry Strong professional integrity and sense
of ownership Self-motivated, requires minimum supervision, with a
proven track record of reliability and a strong work ethic Take
assignments with a sense of urgency; deliver solutions and results
in a timely manner Problem solving skills and ability to
summarize/document analysis and test procedures. Excellent
communication skills with management, internal and external teams
Flexible team-player with a strong attention-to-detail, proactive
sense of initiative, and responsible working attitude Ability to
travel to remote project sites (approximately 30-50% travel)
Preferred Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of PV system
architecture, NEC code requirements, and UL compliance standards.
Understanding of Reliability Physics and Materials Properties
(thermal, electrical, mechanical, chemical), especially those
related to eBOS products. Experience using standard reliability
applications such as JMP, Reliasoft Weibull/ALTA, or similar
software. Experience in partnering with Quality, Engineering, and
Product Management teams to address systemic issues. Lean Six
Sigma, Certified Reliability Engineer, or other continuous
improvement certifications are highly desirable BENEFITS AND PAY:
