Job Description:
Salary: $85,465/Days: 224 Primary Purpose: To facilitate the
implementation of the state and local assessment program, including
the coordination of training, materials, district-level support,
and investigations. To ensure the security of state assessment
materials and results. Collaborate with district staff and outside
personnel to formulate, develop, implement, and evaluate assessment
programs. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master’s degree
in education field from accredited university, preferred Bachelor’s
degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience: Two years of successful teaching Two years of
successful experience with state assessment programs at the
district or campus level; secondary assessment experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Assessment Program Management 1.
Assure accurate national, state, and local assessment
administration occurs with fidelity to all statutes and mandates.
2. Create and maintain systems for ensuring campus compliance with
testing regulations. 3. Stay current on testing policies and
regulations. 4. Provide engaging professional learning for campus
level testing coordinators to ensure they fully understand so that
all regulations are followed. 5. Coordinate and order materials,
provide training, and maintain confidentiality and test security
for the federal and state assessment programs. 6. Ensure data
integrity as related to district and state testing and
accountability systems. 7. Train staff on procedures and guidelines
of the Texas State Assessment Program. 8. Work with the Assessment
Director to assist principals and other building administrators
with the interpretation and distribution of all assessment results.
9. Work with the EL Coordinator to monitor training of TELPAS
Raters and maintain certification records. 10. Monitor training of
STAAR-Alt teacher participants, maintain certification records, and
monitor progress of teachers on STAAR-Alt instrument. 11. Assist
with the College Readiness Testing. 12. Ensure data integrity as
related to state and federal testing systems, including
transmission of student registration files, receipt of student
result data files, and transferring assessment result files to
appropriate data systems. 13. Train campus testing coordinators and
district staff on procedures and guidelines of the Texas State
Assessment Program, including materials management,
confidentiality, and test security. 14. Collaborate with other
departments in order to ensure the successful implementation of the
state assessment program for specialized student groups (e.g., EL,
SPED, 504, etc.) that may require accommodations, modifications,
etc. 15. Maintain processes for state and federal testing
irregularity and incident reporting that include investigations as
warranted and/or directed by district, state, or federal officials.
16. Obtain and use evaluative findings, including student
performance data, to examine curriculum and instructional program
effectiveness to improve student performance. Assessment Program
