Description JOB SUMMARY Reports to the Manager of Revenue and A/P and will be responsible for all aspects of revenue and cash handling for Dallas Zoo. The Revenue Specialist will be preparing daily bank deposits for proper recording of revenues. The Revenue Specialist works with the Director of Guest Experience to ensure smooth transitions during the handling of cash. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Verifies that cash, checks, and credit card charges received match reports generated from the POS system and the daily deposit slips. • Records all transactions on the appropriate spreadsheets and balances to the bank and Merchant Services statements. • Works with Guest Experience on any issues with daily revenue reconciliations. • Manages the daily operation with the cash machine. • Prepare daily cash and check deposits for Zoo revenues. • Post the daily batches from the POS system to the Accounting Software. • Responsible for the petty cash fund and the change fund for operations. • Perform additional accounting duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 5 Years revenue and cash handling experience • Knowledge of Tessitura POS system and Sage Accounting are preferred. • General accounting knowledge preferred. • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Commitment to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines (overtime work when required) • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
